This program is a professional dream. A relationship-based community of teachers, parents and children; a concentrated effort to bring together all of the best practices for play based and family style learning that the early care and education field has to offer.
The Edgewood House School was founded to provide children, teachers, and families a child-centered, extended day preschool program in an intimate small group environment. Our unique afternoon program provides a family style extended care option for morning preschoolers and school age children requiring a longer day. Our indoor and outdoor environments are equally accessible throughout our program day. Our primary goal is to provide a philosophically balanced approach to early childhood education, care giving, and teaching; readying children for the adventures beyond our doors.
Our programs present learning concepts through hands-on exploration of the world around us; introducing academic and social concepts within a non-competitive environment.
Our homes are a place of comfort, fun, and learning for children. We have spearheaded the efforts to create Edgewood House with the support of many friends, colleagues and former parents. It continues to be a collaborative effort among constituents to provide an innovative, progressive and developmentally appropriate learning environment for our children.
